Beach Baby

We live about a half mile for the beach, and coming from landlocked Montana, I am endlessly amazed at the vastness and beauty and diversity of the ocean. Guildy mostly just enjoys digging in the sand, but I’m sure she will develop a deeper appreciation as time goes on!

The grove of trees in this photo is about 100 yards back from the ocean. They have such interesting roots, and they are probably 60-70 feet tall.

People at Guildy's Birthday

Alright, sorry this is all out of order. Because of how our internet system is set up, we can only upload a couple pictures at a time, and because I forgot that they appear on the blog in the order in which they are posted, we actually have a reverse trip through Guildy's birthday. But you'll get the point.

Here are some of the nice folks who helped us all celebrate! The lady in the photo below is Norma Hunt. She is a nurse at the hospital and is originally from Bozeman! On her lap is Marjorie, our next door neighbor. She's four and very sweet. The other kids are younger siblings of big Guildy.

This picture below is of some of the other missionary ladies. Some of the people here are new to Honduras since we were here last, but most are old friends from our last visit. Below are Suzanne Rumbaugh, me and Guildy, Peggy Yost, and Judy Greene.

More Birthday Fun!

The kids played the “Eating an Apple off a String” game. Apples are a huge treat for the kids here, since they are not a native fruit, so they enjoyed it.

The adults played several rousing games of “Rebar,” which is like horseshoes, but played with pieces of bent rebar. The horses here are the size of overgrown Shetland ponies, so the horseshoes are somewhat inadequate for gaming purposes.

Guildy's 1st Birthday

Every major milestone deserves a good party, and we figured that since Josh, Guildy, and I had all survived one year together, some sort of celebration was an order. So, yesterday (the 11th, not Guildy’s real birthday, but close enough), we invited our Honduran and American friends over and had snacks and birthday brownies.

Guildy got some fun gifts and enjoyed both the packaging and the gifts. She is just starting to walk, and earlier in the afternoon she took a nasty face plant. Hence, the swollen lips in this picture.

New Pictures of Guildy

Hello All! From what I can gather, the Blog is the newest and best way to communicate with other computer savy people. So here goes......

Our casa in beautiful, downtown, suburban San Luis, Colon, Honduras. No, not really. San Luis is alot like Circle in terms of population, except with more livestock. Our house is great. We're very blessed to have it!

Rosemary, Guildy #1, and Guildy #2!

Yep, the pictures are finally here. Everyone has been asking for pics of the two Guildys, and here they are. The other girl in the picture is Rosemary. She is in the process of having several surgeries on her left hand, which was caught in a corn grinder last fall. She and Guildy live with Kenton and Saundi Brown, who are missionaries here.
