What I Did On My Summer Vacation

After woefully neglecting my blog since, oh, April, it seems like November is a nice time to post some summer pictures. So here's a little dose of what the Browning clan did this summer.

Paisley Grew. Alot.
5 months.
6 Months
7 Months
8 Months

Eating some yummy first foods at about 8 months.
Hadley encouraging Paisley to open her mouth:o)
We Bought a House
Our very own chunk of North Atlantic Street in Dillon, MT. We love our cozy little house!!
Sweet girls on our front step in August. They are 9, 3, 6, and about 7 months.
And we grew a lovely garden.
I felt a little like this lady. But one must be humble here at 6,000 feet of elevation, knowing that frost, hail, deer, and gophers could smite one's garden at any given moment!

 We Went to Clark Canyon
Clark Canyon Reservoir is just south of Dillon. It reminds me of Fort Peck. No trees, just some sweet clover. No shade. Scorching sun. Near complete desolation. Being a flat-lander at heart, I consider this quality recreation.

  We Had Some Birthdays

Guildy turned 9 on June 13th. A tea part was in order. Isaac, Sergei and Lika joined in. The boys were willing to participate, as long as they weren't required to stick out their pinky fingers.
I turned 34....and got pink eye. These pretty girls took me out for ice cream, which made it all feel better:o)

 And....Some Randomness
Always experimenting with alternate fuels, this is Josh pumping used motor oil into the Mercedes.

We hiked up to Palisade Falls near Bozeman.

And Talby and our little friend Dawson hung out:o)

Visitors

The Counters!
Our friends The Counters from Middletown, CA stopped for a quick visit on their way back from Yellowstone last July. The kids had lots of fun! Caleb, Luke, Kaitlyn, Hadley, Talby, Paisley, Guildy, and Jake.
 The Romans!
Then, in August, our neighbors from CA came for a few days. We had so much fun catching up and polishing up our Spanish. Here are all the girls: Talby, Paisley, Estefani, Natalie, Hadley, Gaby, and Guildy.

Me, Karyna, and a subset of the girlies:o)

We toured Lewis & Clark Caverns while they were here. Of course, the pictures never do it justice, but it was amazing as always.

The Tumlisons!
Missionary friends from Hospital Loma de Luz in Honduras: Cynthia, Joel, and Lucas.
Guildy and Linda have been friends forever!
Linda and Guildy, age 2, in Honduras:o)

Fun times at our local mining ghost town, Bannock.

All in a row: Lisa, Hadley, Paisley, Linda, Guildy, and Talby

4 Months Old!

Paisley is about the sweetest baby imaginable!

Plus she's chubby:o)

And a thumb-sucker!

Fun in Dillon

Waxing the pickup...

A Saturday afternoon at the junkyard. Complete with llamas.

Roller skating in Sunday dresses...

Playing in the sprinkler with sleds...because the seasons overlap here in MT...

Creative Girls

The girls come up with some pretty great stuff to keep themselves entertained!

Rapunzel hair is a common theme in our house...

Indian saris make great hair, too.

Our play/school room has great sunlight in the mornings, so the girls set up this shadow theater one day.

And if you're feeling particularly bored, you can always resort to coloring your face with a marker.

A Little Winter Fun

Our first sledding trip in January after Paisley was born.
Guildy and Ruthie
Josh getting pulled behind the pickup. Always reminds us of carefree college days:o)
In February we went to Jackson Hot Springs with Josh's mom and stepdad.

Paisley's first swim. She loved it!
After 4 years with no front teeth, Hadley's adult front teeth are finally coming in. She looks like a whole different kid!

Big Sisters

There are reasons that birth order matters!
First Babies Never.....

...Get held for hours by a particularly maternal big sister...

...Wear party hats fashioned by a particularly artistic older sister. (In this case, Guildy:o)

...Or are made into a pretend sandwich and pretend eaten by a particularly crazy smaller big sister....

First Smiles

Some sweet Paisley smiles from 7 or 8 weeks....
