Hadley and the Plant

Today, after many weeks of saying, "No, no!" aloud to herself before plucking leaves off of our lone house plant, Hadley managed to tip it over. Below is a video of the aftermath....

Crazy Girlies

Guildy's Imagination
Today, Guildy pretended to be Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz....all day long. The dress is from a doll my Mom made for me when I was little...and it's on backward. In this picture, she is singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," and she watched the entire movie this afternoon and did all the actions just like Dorothy.

You can't pretend to be Dorothy without high heels. I actually thought this was really ingenious. She came downstairs with a pair of socks and said, "We just need two blocks, and then we'll have high heels." She wore them all day...even for her nap. I thought it looked pretty uncomfortable, but she was undaunted.

Hadley's an Animal

Josh was laying on the floor and Hadley wanted to know what he was doing....

Later, after ditching her pants, she wore Guildy's boots around for awhile.

Christmas

We actually celebrated Christmas twice. My folks came Christmas Eve and Josh's Mom and family came a few days later because of plane delays. So we celebrated Christmas with them on New Year's Day. Here are a few photos....

Guildy Quotes

Guildy says the most hilarious things, and I never write them down. But here are a few recent ones.
1. Tonight, we were reading our nightly installment of These Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Guildy wanted to know exactly what Nellie Oleson was doing that was so bad. When I said she was being sneaky, Guildy said, "I bet they'll get her un-sneaked!"
2. Last week when my folks were here, we went to the Museum of the Rockies. Guildy had to go to the bathroom, so Gramma Susie took her. While in the bathroom, she lamented to my mom, "I had to poop really bad, and it made me so sad I couldn't even say Merry Christmas to those people out there."
3. She got up from her nap a few days ago and had some wrinkles on her leg from the blanket. "Oh, that's just because I'm old," she explained.
4. Last summer we went to nearby Lewis and Clark Caverns. Guildy still revers to them as "Lewis and Dark Caverns."
5. Along similar lines, skunks are "stunks." Aptly named.
And on and on it goes. I can't wait till Hadley can talk!
