Princess Guildy
Quite frequently, Guildy will arise in the morning and declare with all her three-year-old authority, "Today, I am a princess." And so the day goes. Purple princess dress, Dora the Explorer stickers for earings, and a fashionable aluminum foil crown to top it all off.The pincesses must nap, but not without her royal crown.

Hadley Eats Dirt
We had a really warm day back in the middle of November, and Hadley was out getting some sun....and some trace minerals...
"Hey, wanna eat some dirt?"
"No, seriously, I'm offering to share my dirt with you!"

To Ekalaka and Backalaka
We spent this past weekend at the Tauck's place south of Ekalaka visiting, hunting, cutting wood, and working cows. Good times were had by all....and lots got done. On Thursday, the guys (Josh, Shaun, Luke, Jess, Jason, and Rod) cut and loaded about 3 cords of wood onto the flatbed and trailer we brought. On Friday they went hunting and got 6 deer, all in a matter of about 4 minutes. They shot them at about 1:00 in the afternoon and had them processed and in the freezer by 7:00. Pretty effecient! And Saturday, the weather cooperated quite nicely for a full day of preg testing.
The miserable weather Wednesday and Thursday left enough snow to make snow balls when it warmed up on Saturday. Below are Guildy and Seth, a cousin of the Tauck clan.
Hadley made herself useful by seeking out all the dangerous and mischievous things in the house...all the garbage cans, the paper for starting fires, the remote control, and her very favorite....the potted plants. Below she is snacking on some newspaper. 
Aside from a blizzard on the way there and a couple blown out trailer tires and some car sick girlies on the way home, it was a pleasant little road trip and so nice to get a break from the busy-ness of Boz Angeles.
Below is Josh with the pickup load of deer. Three of the six were Luke's. He took aim at a doe not realizing there were two more standing directly behind her in the same orientation. One bullet got all of them and didn't ruin a bit of meat. How many people do you know who can tell a story like that!

Big Girls
A few recent pictures of the kiddos. Guildy is about the girliest girl I know. She loves dresses and tights and earrings and lip gloss, which until very recently she called "lip glop." She uses big words and can count up to 15 and loves doing art projects.

Exciting Weekend
Baby Aaron!!
Our very exciting weekend acutally began on Thursday with the arrival of little Aaron Kade. His parents, Levi and Jena, have been friends of our for a long time, and their older son Mason is one of Guildy's best good buddies. Mason stayed with us on Thursday while his parents were busy, and he even got to stay for a sleepover that night. Guildy was super excited about that. Mason wasn't as thrilled about the arrangement, but he did really well. Here they are on Friday with Aaron.
Halloween
For Halloween, we went over the hill to Livingston and enjoyed the festivities at Zech and Brianne's house. Guildy had fun trick-or-treating, but playing with the other kids was way better than candy.
Josh and I donned togas for the occasion. I was a domestic Greek goddess. Note my golden toilet brush sceptor. Josh was Gluteus Maximus. Note his ample back side:o)
Brianne fashioned the cutest lamb costumes for Owen and Georgina (her niece). Here they are accompanied by Little Bo Peep and the Big Bad Wolf.
And last but not least, there's Hadley. She was supposed to be a horse, but her costume only lasted about 5 miles outside of Bozeman before she puked on it. She's not such a happy traveller sometimes. So she wore her jammies instead:o) Brianne's mom Staci is holding her in this pic. 
The Princess Party
Guildy's little friend Faith turned 4 this week, so today her mom threw a 'princess ball' for her. Guildy loves anything related to princess-ness, so it was lots of fun for her. Most of the kids below are kids in Guildy's Sunday school class, so they all knew each other and had a great time.
The kids went to the park for awhile and threw water balloons around....mostly at each other, but since none of them are very proficient at launching things with any degree of accuracy, nobody actually got wet. 
Well, I better wrap this up. In the time it's taken me to whip up a blog, Hadley has climbed the stairs a couple times, rummaged through my purse, and is now working on unrolling and eating the masking tape used last night to hold Josh's back side firmly in place. So I best be on damage control!

Fall
The Sand Box
The fall weather has been amazing the past few weeks. We've hardly had to wear jackets, much less winter coats. Below the kids are digging in the sand box. Hadley was so excited about it that she had to bust out her signature Scrunchy Face. If you look closely, you can see the sand stuck to her face, remnants of the tasty grains she managed to get swallowed.

The Circle C
We went to Circle last weekend to visit Gramma and Grampa and take in the famous Town and Country Day festivities. Guildy really likes the "M" here in Bozeman, so we hiked up to the Circle "C" while we were there. Although less impressive than the "M", Guildy was pleased to find out what it was made out of, and she saw some deer, so it was a fruitful outing.

Our New AdditionThe newest member of our household has finally been installed. Why, you ask, is this important enough to make the blog? Well, it was a major project and made a big mess, and now that it's all cleaned up, I felt like it needed some recognition. So, if you come to visit us this winter, you can toast yourself next to our child safe, money saving heat source.

What Have We Been Up To?
Guildy's First Haircut
The blue Listerine we used to kill off the head lice we had a few weeks back turned the blond ends of Guildy's hair a lovely tint of blue. So, after 3 years of growing her long mane, we had to trim about 4" off the bottom. She actually enjoyed the whole process. I guess the moral of the story is to use a neutral shade of Listerine when nuking your head lice:o)
The Tunnel
The TunnelWe have a little pop-up toy tunnel that the neighbor kids outgrew and gave to Guildy and Hadley. They think it's the funnest thing ever.
And Hadley thinks her big sister is the greatest. They snuggle and wrestle and giggle and have lots of fun. And Guildy is very patient with Hadley's hair pulling and occasional skin nibble.

ClimbingHadley seems to view her world in terms of how she plans to climb each new thing. I caught her the other day scaling the little rocking chair on her way up the high chair. She was well in control of the situation and got herself back down without incident.

We hiked up south Cottonwood a few days ago and enjoyed the late summer flowers and berries and coolness.

Guildy is always game to "help," and feeding Hadley is one of her favorite ways to lend a hand. She actually does a really good job, and they both find it immensely entertaining. Guildy even makes the appropriate faces and says, "yummmm" after every bite.

Aaron and Lauren's Wedding
The Mews Family (Josh's Mom's family) is quite the bunch of characters, and when they all get together, as was the case last weekend for Cousin Lauren's wedding, good times are had by all.
The lovely bride and groom getting the pesky formal part of the evening over with!! The wedding was a Doug's (Linda's husband) vineyard, and it was beautiful. You can see the grapes in the background. Unfortunately, this was the only good picture I got of the happy couple, so you'll just have to imagine how beautiful Lauren was from the front.

The evening grew quite chilly, but fortunately for me, Linda loaned me one of her classic second hand store finds, a lavish black fur coat that reminded us a little of Cruella DeVille.
