Happy New Year!

Here are a few pictures from yesterday, as we were "ringing in the new year"....kind of.
Home Improvement
Since New Year's Eve is a holiday, there was no work at the hospital. So Josh, Samuel (Charity's brother), and Kristel (another gal from Bozeman) worked on various projects that have been needing to be done for months on our apartment. Here is Kristel slaving away painting.
Ice Cream
We've had the Yost's ice cream maker sitting at our house for a year and a half and have never used it. Since her arrival, Charity has been on a mission to produce successful ice cream, and last night, after one disastrous try and much discussion and research, everything came together. So here she is displaying two of our biggest accomplishments of 2007.....Hadley and the ice cream:o)
Cowgirl
Even though it hasn't been below 75 degrees in weeks, it's still winter for us, so here is Guildy bundled up in her warm cowgirl jammies. She was busy telling everyone how she is a cowgirl and Dad is a cowboy. Then she turned to me and said, "That's cow-mommy!"

A Scottish New Year's Eve
In Scotland on New Year's Eve, everyone gathers at their neighbors' houses at midnight for a meal. Since we weren't going to make it till midnight, we went over to Iain and Liz's (our Scottish neighbors) at about 9 and enjoyed a Scottish/Honduran meal of haggis (yep, that's made out of sheep lung, and it's great), fried plantains, and potato salad. Below is Iain in his Holiday Hot Stuff hat.

Charity and Lizzie.
Yason, Samuel, and Ana. Yason and Ana live with Iain and Liz, who run a children's home for kids and families needing short term help. Samuel is their son.

So, while our New Year's Eve didn't include confetti or champaign or even consciousness at midnight, we were with great friends eating haggis, and that's hard to beat! We are so thankful for God's blessings in the past year and are looking forward to seeing Him work in the next. Happy New Year!!!

I love your blog! It looks like you're having all sorts of fun down there. Wish I was there... oh wait, I'm sitting on your couch right now. Uh, I gotta go.
