15th of September

Honduran Independence Day is the 15th of September. Each class in the schools prepares a presentation, such as a dance or a song or a display of some military exercise. They marched in a parade from San Luis (where we live) to the town park in Balfate (about a half mile) and then each group did their presentation. It was fun to watch.

Traditional Honduran attire. Keep in mind that it was about 95 degrees with 95% humidity. Every group of kids had their own water carrier.

Not sure exactly what the sign means, but Balfate, Colon is the town and state.

The kid front is Ariel. He was one of the students at the bilingual school I worked at two years ago.
